Despite reports that the Attorney-General of Ghana did not order the release of the “Delta Force 8”, Koku Anyidoho has stated that he is cocksure Gloria Akuffo ordered the release.
According to the deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress [NDC], he is in possession of detailed information that proves his claim.
Earlier, a group of eight (8) individuals were standing trial for having interrupted court proceedings and assaulting a judge, but they were released from custody based on “lack of evidence”.
Right after the release of the Delta Force members, the Attorney General publicly denied having any knowledge about the release.
However, Mr. Anyidoho maintains that she had ordered the release.
“With this issue of Delta Force, what we are hearing and picking up is that, the instruction to release the Delta Force suspects came from Accra for the senior attorney in Kumasi to apply it. That is what we have picked up,” he said.
