The much guarded Kwesi Botchwey report that has been kept away from party supporters is brewing suspicion and tension among members of the party, a presidential hopeful Dr Ekwow Spio-Garbrah believes.

He has suggested that the only means some of them could use to compel leadership of the party for copies of the Kwesi Botchwey report which remains a classified document is to go to court

According to him, the secrecy of the report by the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) is creating unnecessary tension and suspicion among core NDC members and supporters.

“I respect my colleagues at the party’s headquarters and I believe that they have taken a whole lot of factors into consideration in the way and manner which they are managing the report”

The former Trade and Industry Minister, therefore, suggested to the leadership of the party to make copies of the report available to interested members to end the tension and suspicion the report is currently creating in the party.

“If you keep information so tight that it becomes a balloon that is about to bust and if you just puncture there will be a big explosion”, he observed.

“It will get to a situation where former ministers and former appointees feel they must take legal action and use other forms of means to get copies of the report”, the former appointees hinted.

“In the Western World people will pay hundred thousand dollars or a million dollars for a certain document”, the former Ghana’s High Commissioner to UK told Paul Adom Otchere, host of Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana during one-on-one interview.

A 13-member committee tasked by the leadership of the NDC presented a 455-page document detailing what caused its defeat at the December 2016 polls and proffering some measures to be adopted in readying the party for the 2020 elections.

Its current leadership has kept the document under lock and key stating that it is meant for internal consumption and the general public generating furore within various ranks.
