The National Women’s Organiser for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Hannah Louisa Bissiw, has admonished the youth in the party, especially the females with various positions in the party to embrace activism.

Dr Bissiw said for women to be evenly represented at various decision making tables, they ought to rekindle their activism beyond what has been in existence in the party in the past years.

The NDC women’s leader made the clarion call on Saturday at the opening ceremony of a three-day workshop for all NDC Regional Women’s Organisers held in Tamale in the Northern Region.

The theme for workshop was, “Reenergising the women’s wing for victory 2020.”

Dr. Bissiw charged the participants to be selfless, work extra hard and establish a good relationship with all manner of persons in order to strengthen the base of the NDC for a resounding victory in the 2020 general elections.

“We don’t need to be fighting each other. Learn to forgive and work together,” the former Deputy Agric minister pleaded. “Even me, Hannah Bissiw and my deputies here have offended any of you, please forgive us and let’s work in the interest of the NDC”

She opined the NDC’s women wing is capable of winning power for the party in 2020 and stressed that when they strategise well they will be able to make immense impact in the party.

In her speech, MP for Pusiga, Hon. Hajia Laadi Ayamba also commended the women for making it from across all the 16 regions to converge in Tamale.

She urged them to work in harmony and train their constituency and branch women leaders to work for the party’s development.

“When you don’t win [elections] don’t go anywhere, remain in the party and work hard,” she said while advising them to put the party first ahead of their interest.
