Accra Hearts of Oak claimed the bragging rights in the ‘Mants3 derby’ after beating Great Olympics on penalties to clinch the 2019 Homowo Cup.
The Phobians won 3-1 in the shootouts after the match ended 1-1 in regulation time.
Mitchelle Sarpong opened the scoring at the Accra Sports Stadium in the 71st minute to put Kim Grant’s men ahead.
But the lead was short-lived as Olympics pegged them back one minute later through Iddrisu Sarlar who grabbed the equalizer to send the game to the lottery of the shootouts.
Olympics missed three out of their four kicks while Hearts remained perfect from 16 yards to win the title.
The match was played in commemoration of the annual Homowo festival which is celebrated by the Gas.
