A Youth Pastor with the Calvary Charismatic Centre (CCC), Pastor Justice Billy Nyarko has described activities of vigilante groups in the country as senseless for one to engage himself in, MyNewsGh.com reports. “It is foolish and stupid to die through activities of vigilantism”, he pointed out in an interview with MyNewsGh.com admonishing the youth Ghana to stay away from all forms of troubles that could land them in jail.

According to the Kumasi-based preacher, one will not go to heaven for dying for another man all in the name politics reiterating his caution for the youth to be law abiding and do things that are within the remits of the law.

“When you die through the incident that recently took place at the Ashanti Regional headquarters of NDC and like other parts of the country what is the sense in that”, Pastor Billy Nyarko quizzed.

“Use your God-given energy and wisdom to fight for him and not any politician who life values same as you”, the man of God added.

Meanwhile, a group calling itself the Ghana Youth Arise for Peace has appealed to President Akufo-Addo to empower the various security agencies to deal with activities of vigilante groups.

The group while commending the President for condemning acts of vigilante groups, urged him to go beyond the public pronouncements and make available resources to the security bodies to curb the growing menace.

It also expressed its readiness to assist the government deal with any group of people whose action poses threat to the security of this count.

According to the IGP, it is against the country’s laws for political parties to have such groups that have recently been disturbing the peace of the country.

“We want to appeal to all political parties to immediately denounce their own vigilante groups to create the necessary awareness that will embolden the police,” Asante Apeatu stated.

The police he revealed are poised to arrest and profile any group of people claiming to be vigilante groups irrespective of their political affiliations.

“We are declaring zero tolerance against political violence and vigilantism”, he promised.
