Joseph Attamah misses out on Champions League group stages spot

Ghanaian defender, Joseph Attamah, missed out on the UEFA Champions league final group stages with a 4-3 aggregate defeat at the hands of Spanish side Seville. The Baseksehir defender lasted the full throttle of the return leg at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuain in a thrilling 2-2 drawn game.

The in-form centre back stole the show at the back for his Super Lig side in the play off tie but ended up missing the ultimate spot thanks to a first leg reverse on home soil. The ever present utility defender carried his domestic league form onto the European platform but will have to extend his continental dreams at the Europa league group stages.

Seville earned a vital 1-2 away win in Turkey but needed goals from Wissan Ben Yedder and Sergio Escudero to force a 2-2 drawn at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuain in the return leg.
