The General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress, (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, says the high level of corruption at the Presidency is a disgrace to Ghana.

According to him, the recent expose’ by ace investigative Journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas capturing some key personalities at the Jubilee House and the panic decision taken by the President ostensibly to cover up the mess, is evidence of endemic corruption in the Nana Addo led government.

The GFA boss was on Wednesday released on bail after handing himself to the CID when he arrived from Morocco to answer questions for allegedly using President Akufo-Addo’s name fraudulently.

Mr Nyantakyi’s name popped up in a yet-to-be premiered investigative video under the auspices of Tiger Eye PI being managed by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

The FA boss is alleged to have demanded whopping sums of money from the potential investors to facilitate their meeting with the president, the vice and other senior government officials. The video will be released on June 6, 2018.

Speaking at a forum organized by the Tertiary Education Institution Network (TEIN) of the opposition NDC at Koforidua Technical University, Mr. Asiedu Nketia said the president shouldn’t have acted if he had nothing to fear.

“When they exposed the exposés on judges it was all over. All the people who were on the case were known and the government together with the judiciary decided to take those decisions. When all of them were put before the disciplinary committee, they did not leave anybody out.

“Then you have Anas preparing a report and he announces that June 6, he will be exposing it to Ghanaians but because Nana Akufo Addo is President, you want to give him the opportunity to preview. If you [President] go and preview and realize that there is some part that will hurt you, what do you do if you believe that you are incorruptible and you want your name to be cleared, you do not put your hands into it.”

Other Speakers such as the Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Sam George, Hannah Bissiw, Murtala Mohammed -MP for Nandom, took turn to lampoon the government over corruption, poor management of the economy and agriculture sector.
