At the peak of his career, his name became synonymous with goals.

His stint with Kotoko lasted not more than a season but his impact was profound and it is little surprising that fans of Kotoko still drool over him when they see him.

His job was to score goals and with panache and precision he did that, scoring 17 goals in 22 league matches for the Porcupines in the 2007/2008 season. He overall total, for Kotoko was a staggering 42 goals in 48 matches.

In just one season, he established himself as one of Kotoko’s greatest forwards and mentioning him as Kotoko’s best goalscorer in the last decade and half won’t be a far-fetched argument.

But at 33 with a career now on the fringes, one-time Ghana Premier League goal king winner, Eric Bekoe has gone back to his first love, drawing or artistry.

After scoring goals for fun in the GPL and Egyptian league, Bekoe is now drawing for fun.

The former Black Stars striker has now taken up a career in artistry and just like football, he is good at it.

Bekoe in an interview with Jeffries Kwabena Sintim-Koree of Television CK revealed that drawing has been part of his life since childhood.

Bekoe who believes that he still has some football left in him, is already doing some works for clients and appears to have settled on it as his next profession.

“Just like how I made a name as footballer, I want to do same when it comes to art. My target is to one of the best artist’s in the country. I always pray for God’s blessings and I’m sure I will be one of the best.

“Football done a lot for me and I’m grateful for that but this is my real talent. People have been sending orders and I have been working on them. Patronage has been huge since I got on social media,” he said.

Bekoe has a diplomat in artistry and has since his day in basic school been drawing.
