Kotoko vs Ashgold
Asante Kotoko Sporting Club takes on their regional rivals AshantiGold FC in the maiden B.K Edusei Foundation Cup at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Both clubs will be chasing what could be, perhaps, their second silverware after clinching the Normalisation Special Cup Tier One and Two respectively.
This will be a perfect moment to show appreciation to the one-time Kotoko Board Chairman, and a man whose administration saw the historic conquest of Africa in 1971 – the year Kotoko became the first Ghanaian club to win the premier continental clubs’ championship.
BK, as he was known in the football circles, died 41 years ago.
His foundation, spearheaded by his family, is out to support old Kotoko players between 1970-1983. And there could have been no better way of putting this ceremonial match together without Kotoko playing.
