According to him, the area receives about fifty thousand visitors on daily basis adding that because of the market, pressure is always brought to bear on the health facilities in the area hence the need to equip the existing ones to enable them to cater for these pressures.

As your MP, I will continue to push that a befitting hospital is built for the area to solve some of these teething problems in the delivery of healthcare in the municipality he added.

"It is my responsibility as MP in collaboration with the Assembly to create the desire for the workers in the health facility to work by providing the needed equipment", he noted.

He maintained that the chiefs and people have given the assurance that land will be readily be made available to, for the construction of a modern hospital in the area.

He called on Assembly to maximize the existing lands in the municipality to ensure the area gets its share of the national cake. He assured the health workers, chiefs and people that by the middle of August the Madina Constituency will a state-of-the-arts ambulance as part of the One-District-One ambulance project under the Ministry of Special Development Initiatives as part of the president Nana Akufo-Addo’s vision to bring healthcare to the doorsteps of the electorate.

He said this together with the existing ones will enable the smaller health facilities in the municipality transport patients in no time to the referral facilities for assistance.

Earlier in a welcome address, the Director of the Madina Health Directorate, Mrs. Priscilla Anima Siaw enumerated some of the challenges of the La-Nkwantanang Municipal Hospital Kekeli explaining that many expectant mothers like to come and deliver at the facility adding that the facility for deliveries are also few.

According to her, this usually puts some pressures on the hospital during these times especially when there are more delivery cases to attend to.

She minces no words to say that the lack of an ambulance at the facility is a major challenge in the management of the facility over the years.

She assured the MP that the equipment made available to the hospital will be put to the use it was intended for in the municipality
