General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Johnson Asiedu Nketia has hinted that although there’s a high expectancy by a section of the public for the Special Prosecutor to probe further into the Alfred Woyome Waterville case, there will be a no show as the latter can do very little about it.

Mr. Asiedu Nketia noted that Mr. Amidu had already dropped the case and although it is still ongoing, it can only be pursued by the International Court.

“There’s nothing about Woyome that has not been done. Martin Amidu himself went to withdraw the case against Woyome… so if you have withdrawn the case against Woyome, I don’t think that you’re now going to initiate another case against Woyome.

Indeed the Woyome case has not ended. It is now in the International Court so it can proceed… there’s very little that anybody here calling himself Special or Independent Prosecutor can do about Woyome’s case, it will continue.” He stated.

The outspoken NDC General Secretary rather cautioned the Finance, Fisheries, Agriculture and Deputy Trade Ministers to be weary of the Special Prosecutor, adding that they had outstanding corruption allegations hovering over their heads.

He indicated that it will be in the best interest of the Special Prosecutor to probe the aforementioned ministers in order to prove his legitimacy and charter his own path. According to him, it was paramount for Mr. Amidu to proceed on this path since the former cases could easily be picked up by the Attorney General.
