NPP congratulates newly sworn-in Tarkwa-Nsuaem MCE

The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency of the Western Region has congratulated the newly sworn-in Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the area, Mr. Benjamin Kesse.

Mr. Benjamin Kesse on Friday, May 22, 2020 was overwhelmingly endorsed by the Assembly Members of the area to replaced Mr. Gilbert Asmah whose appointment was revoked by President Akufo-Addo as MCE for the area over an alleged involvement in chieftaincy dispute and galamsey operation.

Out of the 21 members present on Friday Morning to confirm him, Mr. Benjamin Kesse polled 19 'yes' votes representing 98 percent as against 2 'no' votes.

The newly sworn-in MCE until his appointment and endorsement, was the immediate past Presiding Member (PM) for the area and also the incumbent Western Regional NALAG Rep.

He is also the constituency Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the area.

In a congratulatory message, copied to Daniel Kaku, the NPP Tarkwa-Nsuaem Communications Director, Hon. Ebenezer Anane Atuahene said the Tarkwa-Nsuaem was very grateful to President Akufo-Addo for picking Mr. Benjamin Kesse as their MCE.

"Tarkwa-Nsuaem is very grateful to H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for taking such an imperative and calculative step in appointing Hon. Benjamin Kesse as the MCE," the statement read.

"The euphoria with which party faithful, observers and by extension, the good people of Tarkwa-Nsuaem received the news of confirmation of the President’s nominee was very unprecedented", the statement added.

The statement stressed that, "The Communications Directorate will also use this medium, to thank all relevant stakeholders that ensured a smooth transparent confirmation and swearing-in of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE)".

The party believed that the newly sworn-in MCE would partner with the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Mr. George Mireku-Duker to develop the area as expected.

"The good people of Tarkwa-Nsuaem are very optimistic that, the brotherly spirit binding Hon. George Mireku Duker (MP) and the new MCE spanning over decades of service to our great party and the developmental agenda of Tarkwa-Nsuaem shall see a speedy rise which will massively improve the fortunes of NPP and Tarkwa-Nsuaem".

The statement, therefore acknowledged that, "The entire Tarkwa-Nsuaem NPP extend their warm felicitations to our hardworking humble Western Regional Minister, Hon. Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah who acted during the period of vacuum and ensured a timely smooth handover for government business and Tarkwa-Nsuaem development to speed up".

The Communications Directorate of the Tarkwa-Nsuaem NPP on behalf of the rank and file of the Tarkwa-Nsuaem NPP, congratulate Hon. Benjamin Kesse as the newly sworn-in Municipal Chief Executive of the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality as confirmed by an overwhelming majority of Assembly Members.

Hon. Benjamin Kesse until his appointment was the immediate-past Presiding Member of the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Assembly (TNMA), incumbent Western Regional NALAG Rep and serving his third consecutive term as the Constituency Secretary among others.
