NPP youth who chased MP were high on drugs – Anwere Boateng

It has emerged that some youth of Koforidua in the Nwabiagya North Constituency of the Ashanti region who chased to their Member of Parliament (MP) for the area Benito Owusu Bio from a public event last Sunday did so under influence of hard drugs, according to the immediate past Assemblyman in the area, Hon. Anwere Boateng.

He condemned the action by the youth he described as hoodlums who have the penchant of causing confusion in the area at the least provocation.

“These youth are drug addicts and I can tell you they are behind all forms of criminal activities in this constituency”, Hon. Anwere Boateng disclosed on Kumasi-based Nhyira FM morning show monitored by MyNewsGh.com.

In a video MyNewsGh.com sighted, the youth spotted cursing and hooting at the MP vowed to unseat him should he attempt to run for the seat again.

They say there is nothing to show for the four terms that Mr Owusu Bio has been in Parliament and would no longer tolerate empty promises from him.

Speaking to the development, the former Assemblyman who is also a party person told host, Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin that these hoodlums are just a few in number contrary to what crowd in the video.

Meanwhile, the NPP Youth Organiser for the Atwima Nwabiagya North Constituency, Prince Appiagyei also revealed that the youth had been rented by “some people to stop the construction of the proposed police station in the town because they don’t want to see the progress of the town.
