The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) has attributed the nationwide power outages that hit the country on Wednesday May 3, 2017 to a surge that shutdown their generators.
The whole country went off around 9PM in the evening.
A statement signed by the Head of Public Relations of GRIDCo, Albert Kwesi Quainoo, it said technical teams in the value-chain have been working to restore power system into service.
‘Restoration is still ongoing and is expected that power supply will be fully restored…,’ it said.
This is the second time a nationwide blackout has occurred, the first one was in January 2016.
Some parts of the country are still experiencing ‘Dumsor’.
