Leicester City boss Craig Shakespeare says he “had a lot of time” for Ghanaian defender Jeffrey Schlupp.
Schlupp signed for Crystal Place in January 2017 and although he is not a permanent fixture under Sam Allardyce, he has at least enjoyed more playing time than he managed at the Foxes.
Speaking to the Leicester Mercury, Shakespeare said, "It doesn't matter now what I wanted to do, the club made the decision [to sell Schlupp].
"He was a player I had a lot of time for. He was a home-grown, coming through the academy, and he was well liked in the group.
"But he has moved on now and good to see him playing regular football, which he wanted.
"It is Palace's issue now and problem how to get him playing consistently. Hopefully he will get that chance at Palace."
