Speaker of Parliament, Professor Mike Oquaye is expected to be sworn in as acting President today Saturday, 27 January as President Akufo-Addo leaves for the African Union (AU) Summit in Ethiopia.
Parliament is to be convened for the swearing in exercise.
The vice President Mahamadu Bawumia is in the United Kingdom n a sick leave.
This is the second time in a week the speaker is being sworn in as acting president of the Republic of Ghana.
The last time was when, Mr Akufo-Addo left for the investiture of new Liberian President George Weah in Monrovia while his vice, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, was on his medical leave in the UK.
