President Nana Akufo-Addo has said anybody who refuses to see his achievements within the past two years is either blind or dead.

Speaking at a political rally at the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency on Tuesday, 29 January 2019 ahead of a by-election scheduled for Thursday, 31 January, Mr Akufo-Addo said he and his government are fixing Ghana, adding that: “It is only the blind and the dead” who cannot see and experience his achievements in the past 24 years.

Mr Akufo-Addo said his government fulfilled 41 of its 2016 campaign promises so far.

According to him, Ghanaians will realise he is a man of integrity after he completes his first term in office.

Nana Akufo-Addo called on the electorate to vote massively for the NPP candidate, Lydia Seyram Alhassan, to honour the late MP for the area, Emmanuel Kyeremanteng Agyarko.

“Forty-one promises made by the NPP and its presidential candidate has been fulfilled and delivered within two years. We are not done and I know that. But after the four years, everybody will see that, yes, Akufo-Addo was a man of his words and a man of truth, a man of honesty and integrity,” Nana Akufo-Addo stated.

“I’m pleading with you, Lydia is a mother and a widow but because of her love for Ghana and Ayawaso West, she has decided to contest and continue the good works of her husband, so, vote massively for her to honour her late husband,” the president added.

For his part, Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia urged the electorate to vote for the widow to prove to the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) that Ghanaians have “zero tolerance for incompetence”.

Apart from the NPP’s candidate, the other contestants are Kwasi Delali Brempong (NDC), William Dowokpor (PPP), and Clement Boadi of the LPG.
