Personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces are still aggrieved over the lynching of their colleague, Major Maxwell Adam Mahama hence their decision to shoot of one suspected illegal miner to death at Wawase in Obuasi to register their displeasure.
“I suspect because the way Major Mahama was killed these people [personnel] have in minds that they are not going to be victims again”, aspiring National Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Richard Amoako Baah suspects.
“They want to instill fear in the residents that their lives are important than the gold the people get”, the political science lecturer alleged on Kumasi-based Ultimate FM’s morning show.
The senior lecturer with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) commenting on the death of an illegal miner on Sunday, admonished the people to quit their illegal businesses for the sake of their lives.
