The host of Fire for Fire on Adom TV, Patrick Osei Agyemang, popularly known as Countryman Songo takes his turn on Sports Check.

Kwesi Nyantakyi’s lifetime ban has been welcomed with great joy by people who believe that the beleaguered lawyer used his position as GFA President to rob Ghana football of several amounts of dollars.

Countryman Songo is one person many expect to be on cloud nine and celebrate the downfall of the man who sent him to court for allegedly making some defamatory comments about him.

But like the man whose work culminated in Nyantakyi’s fall from a celebrated football administrator to a persona-non-grata, Songo does not take pride in the downfall of a fellow human.

The Fireman who admits that the ban placed on Nyantakyi is a deserved one says ‘he feels sad for him’.

Kwesi Nyantakyi has announced that he is going to appeal the decision by FIFA’s Adjudicating Chamber but Songo has advised him to ‘pray to God and ask for forgiveness’ instead of fighting what in his view is a lost battle.

Songo rejects claims that the Wa All Stars owner was let down by his close friends, arguing that ‘you are a reflection of the people you call friends’.

The Fireman lashes out at Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah, accusing him of ‘not knowing what he is doing’.

He extends the bashing to Asamoah Gyan with a call on him to retire from the Black Stars.

Songo in this interview praises Youth and Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah for his infrastructure agenda and decision to stay away from Black Stars assignment.

He, however, admonishes him to be transparent and accountable to Ghanaians over the cost of the projects.

He ends the interview with a call on the government to do everything possible to motivate and encourage the Black Queens to win the 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations.
