State defaulters must not be spared - Mutala Mohammed

Former Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, under the Mahama-led administration, Ibrahim Mutala Mohammed, has said that any public official who has caused some loss to the state must not go scot-free.

In an interview with host of the Alhaji and Alhaji show, Samuel Eshun on Saturday, 26th, August, 2017, with respect to the SSNIT software saga, he noted that: ”It is the responsibility of every government to ensure that monies belonging to the state are not misappropriated and that those who engage by their actions directly or indirectly that coss some loss to the state must not be spared”.

He also added that ”NDC as a political party has not reneged on that principle.”

According to him, ”People who have been perceived or been considered to have done some wrong.... ought to be prosecuted; it must be done within the ambit of the law."

However, the MP for Nantong noted that there should be sincerity, fairness and honesty in terms of treating people regardless of their political persuasion.
