Stephen Kwaku Asare a US-based legal practitioner and accounting professor popularly known on Facebook as Kwaku Azar has revealed that the anti-Oti Region crusaders who took President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and other prominent persons to a shrine have committed no crime.

Ebenezer Atsu, 33, and Shepherd Acolatse, 55, have been arrested by the police after they were reported to have gone at Weta in the Ketu North Municipality of the Region, to put the political leaders under the control of black magic.

The traditional priest, Festus Kwashie Babanawo, who said he could not destroy leaders of the country, turned round to report the two persons at the Weta Police station after he accommodated the two suspects peacefully into his shrine.

But the Kwaku Azar accused the Volta Regional Police Commander, DCOP Ebenezer Francis Doku of abusing his right as police chief insisting the two violated no law in the country.

He stated in a Facebook post sighted by MyNewsGh.com challenged the police chief to provide further and better particulars on why he continues to detain the two persons.

Read the full text of his message below;

It is not against the law to visit a shrine or a cathedral to pray for whatever your little heart desires!

Further, spiritual advisors need to understand that communications between them and their members are both confidential and privileged.

Pastor Kwashie Babanawo therefore breached his professional duty and ethics, when he reported the two persons who had sought spiritual advice from him to the police.

In any event, the communication, being privileged, will not be admissible against the two persons in any good court, assuming that there is an offense.

DCOP Doku, provide further and better particulars on why you have arrested and continue to detain Ebenezer Atsu and Shepherd Acolatse or release them immediately so they can enjoy farmers day with their families.

Da Yie!
