You are not paid to keep making errors – NIA 'bashed' over wrong date in press release

National Identification Authority Owpe The NIA cited a wrong date in their press release to announce the Ghana Card registration

The National Identification Authority has been massively criticized for being negligent and mediocre in the dispensation of their duties despite having been paid huge sums of monies by the government to effectively met out their responsibilities.

A concerned citizen who identifies himself as George Nelson Gyimah in a post on Facebook expressed utmost disappointment in the fact that a statement released by the Authority, to announce the official commencement of the National Identification Card (GhanaCard) registration, was dated ‘2016’ rather than the present year, ‘2018’.

The letter which was titled; “Commencement of Mass Registration of Ghanaians for the Ghana Card’ with the Letter Head of the National Identification Authority, was dated “28th May, 2016”.

His worry is that such errors have, in similar fashion previously, been made by other public institutions which are supposed to have ‘highly certified educated folks’ to ensure that such information is carefully checked before being ‘spewed’ out for public consumption.

“Some of these highly certified educated folks are our bane if you ask me. Don’t come and tell me it was a typo error, the government of Ghana does not pay them huge sums of money every month just to bring this to the public domain, what then becomes their usefulness? 28th May 2016 indeed!! he wrote.
