Players and technical team of ambitious Division One League side, Star Madrid Football Club, have rubbished vile reports claiming the players are owed bonuses and salaries.

The team, led by some senior players, the team manager and the deputy coach, labelled the reports as blatant lies since there was no such issue at the club.

According to former Kumasi Asante Kotoko and King Faisal player Joe Agyemang Snr who is deputy coach of Star Madrid, the conjectured story came from some indiscipline players who were asked to go home and hence became disgruntled and thus describing the story as false. He suspected some indiscipline players who have been asked to go home, acted that way to tarnish NAM 1 and Frederick Boateng´s ‘Bola’ image and he has pleaded with the two prominent personalities to forgive the playing body and the technical staff.

“We know that the players did not do it right. It is an open secret that footballers don’t speak the truth even when the evidence is so clear. It’s indiscipline that’s causing some of the players to come out with such blatant lies. Some of the players who were asked to go home due to indiscipline are behind this untoward behaviour all in a bid to tarnish the image of Nana Appiah Mensah and Frederick Boateng ‘Bola’; but we plead with these eminent personalities to forgive us.”Joe Agyemang snr told Zylofon Sports.

He added that there have been times that they have received double salaries and if he had the opportunity to play again, he would have done all he could to play for Star Madrid.

“We received double salaries not long ago. We get everything we request for, so I don’t know why some people will come out with such evil act. We are pleading for forgiveness on behalf of the player.” He said.

One of the senior players at Star Madrid, Emmanuel Sarpong ‘Manuel’ also stated clearly that those reports were all lies, and it’s something that can never happen to Star Madrid.

“It’s never true that Nana Appiah Mensah ‘NAM 1’ cannot pay players’ salaries or winning bonuses. NAM 1 can do anything at any time. We even took double winning bonuses when we first won our game and that bonus covered every Star Madrid player. Some of the players showed indiscipline attitude in camp, so I believe those are the players who did that. Star Madrid’s signing on fees for its players are even better than most Premier League clubs.” Manuel stated.

Star Madrid is one of the few clubs in the country who have an ultra modern clubhouse and a state-of-the-art office in East Legon, Accra.
