WELL DONE MY TOGBE. GAS WANT TO SEE THIS

Is there a record of any government, past or present, that has forced Ghanaians to speak Twi? No! Any person who speaks Twi does so voluntarily and for reasons best known to him or her. Yet the language is spoken through the length and breadth of the country: not by force, but by sheer evolution. English may be the official language, but only an ostrich will refuse to acknowledge that Twi is the de facto national language: and it is still spreading. You may refuse to speak or understand the language, but you may struggle to communicate with others everywhere in the country. You cannot substitute Twi with Ewe for example, for you will be understood only in the Volta Region or elsewhere in the country where Ewes are concentrated. This has nothing to do with tribalism. A spade is a spade and it wouldn't make sense to call it a mere instrument for digging.
