Serial callers of the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) have weighed in on the controversy rocking the party, warning the leadership of the NDC to end the unwarranted attacks on former President Mahama.

According to them, they’re rallying hundreds of folks within their ranks to embark on a serious protest against the post-election attacks on the former President, John Dramani Mahama.

Yahuza, one of the popular serial callers of the largest opposition NDC told host Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM, that they’re following the latest developments in the party with great concern, adding they are appalled by the misbehaviour of the leaders and National Executives of the party.

“Why are they bastardizing President Mahama? For what reason. The leaders are the cause of the NDC woes. We are in the woods because of their selfish interest. They should be careful with their actions now, and what they are doing have the tendency of further polarizing the party, but we will fight against it. We shall have a meeting this weekend to mobilize ourselves for a massive protest in the coming days.”

The Kwasi Botcwhay committee is expected to conduct hearing among the rank and file of the party, as well as solicit for views from members of the party across the country for review and restructure itself after the NDC’s worst defeat in history.

But even before the dust settles on the NDC, some national executives and party members have taken to the media with vicious attacks deepening the cracks within the party.

The former President, who was the 2016 Presidential Candidate of the NDC has been at the centre of the controversy, leading to a divided opinion as to whether it will yield any good results allowing Mahama to lead the party again in 2020 elections.

But many of the footsoldiers like Yahuza contends their loyalty to President Mahama is unconditional, hence they will ensure the current leader of the party is protected.

“He can’t do all the work that is why he appointed ministers, leaders and other officials to reach out to those on the grounds. But they messed him up and ignored campaigning for him. We are ready to defend Mahama even if it will send us to prison.''
