Acting national chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Freddie Blay has been advised to refrain from commenting on issues regarding the embattled party’s national chairman, Paul Afoko.

According to the spokesperson of the embattled National Chairman, Nana Yaw Osei, Mr. Freddie Blay must concentrate on his job as Board Chairman of Ghana National Petroleum Cooperation (GNPC) and should not interfere in issues regarding Mr. Afoko.

“Let Freddie Blay concentrate on enjoying his post as Board chairman and leave Mr Afoko alone “, Nana Yaw Osei fumed.

The Kumasi-based legal practitioner who spoke on a local radio station, Abusua FM advised appointees of the Akufo-Addo government to be more focused on government business than party issues.

“If people like Freddie Blay and other appointees are not serious on concentrating on government business, let them bring it on”, the spokesperson dared on Abusua Nkommo hosted by Kwame Adinkra.

The acting National Chairman Freddie Blay is reported to have said, the comeback of Mr. Paul Afoko and other suspended party executives of the will mean nothing for the party’s victory in any election.

“What he is talking about?”, Nana Yaw Osei quizzed Kwame Adinkra, host of Abusua NKommo indicating the office of Mr. Afoko will respond to every single allegation sought to denigrate the image of the embattled chairman.

“With all due respect, I will respond to every allegation that will seek to denigrate Mr. Afoko even it is coming from the President”, the spokesperson stated.

The NPP suspended its 2nd Vice Chairman, Sammy Crabbe, alongside Mr. Agyapong in 2015, after they were accused of publicly rebelling against the party’s decision to indefinitely suspend its National Chairman, Paul Afoko upon recommendations from its disciplinary committee.
