Also to be discussed is the attack on the Chief Executive Officer of the Tamale Teaching Hospital. Some people believed to be members of Kandahar Boys, a vigilante group affiliated to the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) invaded the offices of the hospital and instructed the CEO, Dr David Zaawumya Akolbila to walk out and hand over the keys to his office.
Alhaji Baba Alhassan, group leader and prime suspect in the attack was arrested and granted bail after the staff laid down their tools in solidarity with their CEO.
In soccer, FIFA has reached an agreement with Ghanaian authorities to appoint a Normalisation Committee to run football in the country. This comes after the world's football governing body threatened to ban Ghana if the liquidation process of the GFA is not withdrawn by Monday, August 27.
