On Friday 22nd February, 2019. There was a misunderstanding between the people of Abome and Kpedzi which unfortunately resulted in a clash and ended several people at the hospital.

The next day an NPP delegation led by the Constituency Chairman Dr Akyea Darkwah and a delegation from the Asuogyaman District Assembly also led by the Presiding Member of the District Assembly, Mr Jonathan Hagan and Mr. Paul Ansah visited the two communities to try to get them to exercise restraint.

A meeting was held between the two communities at the Assembly on Monday 25th February. Among the people present were the District Police Commander, the DCE, the Presiding Member and Paul Ansah.

At the meeting, the DCE informed the gathering that there were some two transformers that had been sitting at the Assembly since 2008. He added that VRA officials had tested them and found them to be in good condition. However, his officers had informed him (DCE) that they belonged to a contractor.

Paul Ansah after the DCE's comments, pleaded with the DCE and the Assembly to release one Transformer for the good people of Kpedzi with an undertaking to pay for its cost of ghc21,000 if anyone showed up to claim ownership.

The elders also requested for cement to build a fish landing Bay and support to pay the medical bills of those wounded in the conflict. Paul Ansah, therefore, presented the transformer, 20 bags of cement and an amount of Ghc2,000 to defray the medical expenses.
