Embattled Nigerian Professor, Augustine Nwagbara has likened the treatment that was meted out to him in Ghana to hell on earth singling out his arrest and subsequent media bashing as typical examples.

The controversial visiting Nigerian Professor to Ghana was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service and charged with incitement to breach of peace following the contents of a leaked tape in which he was captured making damning remarks about Ghana’s educational sector and alleged harsh treatment meted out to Nigerian residents in Ghana.

Speaking to the issue for the very first time after his sack by the University of Education Winneba (UEW), the loudmouth professor claimed the treatment he received could be equated to hell on earth.

He believes the timely intervention of the Nigerian High Commissioner in Ghana, Ambassador Olufemi Abikoye saved the situation as he could have been dead by now.

“But for him, I probably would have been a dead man,” he added while speaking with Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) in Abuja, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Head, Media Unit, NIDCOM.

The English Professor insists the video in which he was captured making the alleged inciteful comments was doctored by some Ghanaian Journalists to blackmail him.

The said video he added was leaked by same Ghanaian Journalists working with a Ghanaian Private TV Station after his meeting with the Nigerian community.
