Former Vice-Chairman of the Ghana Football Association’s Player Status Committee, Kofi Manu, popularly known as Blue boy, has described the head of the Normalisation Committee currently managing the affairs of Ghana football as ignorant and clueless on the exact role expected of a football management body, ABC News can report.
His comment comes on the back of a criteria put in place as a requirement for candidates seeking to run the affairs of the newly constituted Ghana Football Association as President.
The Kofi Amoah-led Normalisation Committee says candidates without a master’s degree will be disqualified from contesting for the Ghana Football Association presidency.
But former Executive Member of the Ghana Football Association, Kofi Manu, has described the move as an unacceptable and ridiculous one.
He says the head of the Normalisation Committee is ignorant about issues relating to the management of football. He expressed disappointment in Dr. Kofi Amoah for failing to live up to expectations as the head of the Normalisation Committee.
“I am very disappointed in Dr. Kofi Amoah (Normalization Committee Head). He is ignorant about what he is doing. It seems his emotions are overpowering his knowledge.”
He referred the decision made by the NC to only accept masters degree holders as prospective candidates for the role of GFA President as a move which can easily be equated to ‘total stupidity’.
“It would be total stupidity if you use the educational background to disqualify someone for the GFA presidency, even FIFA presidency don’t use educational qualification,” he said.
