Exectuive Council Member of the Ghana Football Association, Nana Oduro Sarfo has touted the body’s contribution to government towards fighting the Coronavirus pandemic.

The GFA has donated the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence to be used as an isolation center during this period.

The Prampram facility according to Nana Oduro Sarfo will save government millions of Ghana cedis.

The veteran football administrator believes the donation from the GFA is magnanimous hence they should be appreciated for the gesture.

“Any well meaning individual will value and appreciate what the GFA has done for government, nobody has done this anywhere” he told Asempa Sports.

“A chunk of the $100m loan the government got from the WHO, and the World Bank will go into paying for hotels”.

“This is the biggest facility that Ghana has in terms of isolation…the rest of the other facilities are hotels, which they (government) are paying monies”.

“Government is not paying a dime for Prampram even if they use it for two years if the Covid-19 is still existing”

“If we have made available this facility, we rather need to be applauded and hailed” he noted.

Nana Oduro Sarfo asserted that this arrangement will save government a lot of money and believes government is very pleased with the gesture.

He said “If you look at the hotels they have booked, if they pay the 200 Ghana cedis minimum a day, and you have 250 people being housed in such a unit for 3 months”

“How much will you pay, When the government can use those monies to run other facilities”.

“We have rooms totalling about 120. We have block A, B, C and D. And we have offices that are self contained and can converted to rooms”.

“So in estimation, we have saved government 500,000 Ghana cedis a day for the next 90 days, Our contribution is too big” he boldly declared.

“Government is very happy with what we have done. The Ghana Health Service too are happy with what we have done“.
