The Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International, a Christian Professional Non-denominational Fellowship, has donated assorted items to the Central Regional Directorate of the Ghana Health Service (GHS) towards curbing the COVID-19 pandemic in the Region.

The items included 50 gallons of liquid soap, 40 gallons of parazone, 200 pieces of nose masks, 30 rolls of cotton wool, 1,000 surgical gloves and five boxes of disposable syringe.

Professor Aaron Tettey Asare, the National Director of the Fellowship, Central Region, said the donation formed part of its corporate social responsibility to support the Government’s fight against the Covid-19 scourge.

He commended the Government for being proactive in stemming the disease in the country but complained about the response and attitude of a section of the public, which had contributed to the increase in recorded cases.

Prof Asare, therefore, called for an intensified public education and strict implementation of the public health protocols by the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organisation to stop the spread.

“This is the time we should not only pray as Christians and believers but also provide material support to back our faith with works,” Mr Felix Yiadom, the Fellowship’s National Director for Youth Development, said.

He said it was relevant for them as a Christian body and members of the society to contribute towards the COVID-19 fight and urged Christians, in general, to keep praying as they trust God for a permanent solution to the pandemic.

The Central Regional Director of the GHS, Dr Akosua Owusu-Sarpong, who received the items, expressed gratitude to the Fellowship for the gesture.

She said the items would be used for their intended purposes to improve the health status of the people in the Region.
