The National Organiser for National Democratic Congress (NDC), Joshua Hamidu Akamba says Jean Mensa and Bossman Asare who are the commissioners for the Electoral Commission (EC) are planning to rig elections for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Joshua Akamba disclosed that the NPP wants to undermine the electoral process with its diabolic schemes.
According to him, this is a clear indication that the New Patriotic Party wants to rig the 2020 elections.
“We are informed that it involves the procurement of a new biometric registration system, the cost of which is estimated at a gargantuan sum of over GHS 443,646,663 or 4.436 trillion old cedis. And we are going to do this at a time when teachers are crying, nurses are crying, contractors are crying, drivers are crying and students are crying, this is a waste of tax payers money,” Joshua Hamidu Akamba told Kwame Tutu on Anopa Nkomo on Accra-based Kingdom FM 107.7
According to him, Jean Mensah and Bossman Asare who head the EC are pushing for a new register as part of moves to create opportunities to suppress votes in the NDC’s strongholds, especially the Volta Region, and artificially boost voter numbers in the NPP’s strongholds.
The Electoral Commission (EC) says it has awarded the contract for the construction of the new Production and Disaster Recovery Datacentre to Persol Systems Limited, which has begun the processes for construction.
The telecommunication giant, MTN, has also secured the contract to provide network or internet connectivity services to the various district offices of the Commissi
The commission has also expressed the hope that it will complete the exercise by May 30, 2020.
