President John Dramani Mahama has fulfilled his campaign message to the people of Bechem that he will build an AstroTurf for FA Cup champions, Bechem United.
The President in a campaign tour of the Brong Ahafo region promised the people of building an Astroturf on the Malik Jabir park which will be used by Bechem United for next season’s CAF Confederations Cup.
The President’s promise was delivered in cash by Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah. The amount is reported to be Ghs50,000
Bechem United became Ghana’s representative for the CAF Confederations Cup after they defeated Okwahu United in the MTN FA Cup final.
As part of requirements for playing matches in CAF competitions, a team is supposed to have a pitch of a particular standard.
The move by the first gentleman of the land will relieve Bechem United of an enormous financial burden since one of their headaches has been cured.
