NHIA staff to undergo coronavirus test after CEO tests positive

A compulsory test for COVID-19 is to be conducted on all staff of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) before the end of this week after the CEO of the Authority tested positive for the virus.

Impeccable sources at the NHIA, tell Kasapafmonline.com that the impending test has become necessary after some staff who’ve come into contact with the CEO also tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

The Chief Executive Officer of NHIA, Dr. Lydia Dsane-Selby tested positive for the disease on Sunday, June 14, 2020.

According to her, she tested positive for the disease after experiencing tiredness, body pains, and headaches.

Meanwhile, four more persons have died from the novel coronavirus shooting the death toll in Ghana to 58.

Addressing a press conference in Accra Tuesday, the Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Patrick Aboagye-Kumah announced that a total of 229 new cases have been recorded as of June 15, 2020 pushing the total number of confirmed cases to 12,193.

Of the new cases, 70 were from the Ashanti region followed by the Central region with 42 cases and then 34 cases in the Savanna region.

A total of 4,326 patients have recovered and discharged leaving the active cases at 7,813.
