President Nana Akufo-Addo should brace himself for more protests against his “bad governnance” and bad leadership, says the National Organiser of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Joshua Akamba.

According to him, the president has failed to show leadership at a time all and sundry are expectiong him to put the country to order, following the shooting incident during the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-elections on Thursday, January 31, 2019.

Speaking to Kwame Minkah, host of Ete Sen on Radio XYZ, on the outcome of a demonstration which the NDC had joined on Thursday to protest the Ayawaso West wuogon Violence, Mr Akamba observed that the huge crowd that joined the “Agbe wor” demonstration showed that the masses had lost confidence in Akufo-Addo to bring snaity to the streets.

“The demo was attended by many Ghanaians…the message was clear and the impact was felt. This shows that Ghanaians are not happy with what is happening in the country. There amre ore to follow,” Akamba disclosed.

He went on to charge the NPP government to put things in order to safeguard the many Ghanaians who are gripped in fear following the electoral violence.

To the police, Mr Akamba urged them to be bold and thoroughly investigate the mayhem and bring the perpetrators to book, especially as video footages have shown some of their faces.

Violence

Six (6) NDC members were shot by masked men while polls were ongoing. The MP for Ningo Prampram, Sam George was also manhandled during the voting. The melee eventually led the NDC to withdraw from the elections, which was later won by the late MP’s girlfriend, Lydia Seyram Alhassan.

Analysts of the video footage of the brutalities and slides captured from it, have identified some of the men, believed to be members of the NPP Vigilante group, Invisible Forces.

Fresh videos in which one of those involved is heard screaming “this is the beginning of 2020” is even raising more fears among a section of the public who are piling pressure on government to sack the National Security Minister and ensure thorough investigations.
