The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi says General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia has reached menopause so far as politics in Ghana is concerned.
Speaking on Okay Fm's "Ade Akye Abia" with host Kwame Tikese, Wontumi said, his plans and strategies worked as NDC delegates voted massively for his candidates to occupy top positions and that he was sure the 2020 elections will be a done deal for the NPP.
"The likes of Asiedu Nketia whose utterances and poor decisions has caused NDC in so many ways and this prove to the fact that he [Asiedu Nketia] together with other members of the NDC are suffering from menopause and therefore lacks the capacity to function effectively. NPP is not perturbed about the new crop of NDC leadership and cannot wait for election 2020,” he stated.
Explaining the menopausal syndromes of Asiedu Nketia, Wontumi noted that the NDC Chief Scribe has been taking decisions that expose his party to public ridicule.
"During our conference to elect new national leaders for our party, we sent a letter to the NDC to join us which they failed. Asiedu Nketia, trying to explain why they didn’t show up, said he met the Vice president at a funeral and told him they are busy so they can’t make it knowing very well that administratively the Vice President wasn’t the right person to have channeled that information to but rather officials of the party.
“The errors he keeps committing are not once or twice. That is why I'm saying the NDC, looking at people like Inusah Fuseini, Asiedu Nketia, Kofi Adams and some of their MPs in Parliament now, I can say they have all reached menopause and they can’t come back,” he added.
