Dr. Matthew Opoku-Prempeh, Minister for Education has disclosed that some people who hate the Free SHS policy deliberately bused people to the Independence Square to sabotage the school placement system, ABC News can report.
According to the Minister, the aim of such unscrupulous people is to make the President and the NPP government unpopular for introducing the Free SHS policy. This explains the reason why these people sent a huge number of people to the Solution Center at Independence Square to cause confusion.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen Tuesday afternoon, the Minister who doubles as the legislator for Manhyia South Constituency said “some people are bent on destroying government’s free SHS policy but it won’t work. Unscrupulous selfish persons wanting to drag the name of the government in the mud are behind chaos at Independence Square.”
He added that these ‘evil-minded people’ are jealous of the government’s resolve to provide free education to every Ghanaian child who qualifies for senior high education.
“People are jealous we are giving the poor education. We shall continue to serve the masses,” he said.
