A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, has said the “party is the campaign” following the inauguration of flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo’s campaign team Saturday, December 19, 2015, at the party’s Extraordinary Delegates Conference in Sunyani under the theme: “Arise for Change 2016.”
According to Mr Akufo-Addo’s nephew, his Uncle has formed a campaign team that blends experience with youth and party structures with his own team.
This, in his view, makes the “party the campaign”.
He added in a Facebook post that having all 10 regional chairmen being part of the campaign team ensures that strategies are inclusive and not disconnected from those who are tasked to do the implementation.
Mr Akufo-Addo and his running mate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia are, respectively, the coordinator and vice coordinator of the campaign team.
Mr Peter Mac Manu, former National Chairman of the Party is the campaign manager with all the 10 regional chairpersons as members.
Mr Dan Botwe, a former General Secretary of the Party and Member of Parliament for Okere, is the campaign strategist while Mr Boakye Agyarko is the policy advisor.
Mr Ken Ofori-Atta, assisted by Mr Kwabena Amankwaa-Yeboah, are in charge of Finance; Mr Victor Newman is Director of Research while Nana Akomea is Director of Communication.
Dr Mustapha Hamid, Mr Yaw Buabeng Asamoah, National Organiser and Acting General Secretary John Boadu, Mr Sammy Awuku, the National Youth Organiser and Ms Afisa Otiko Djaba, the National Women's Organiser are all members of the campaign team.
