A high ranking NPP member, and confidante of President Akufo-Addo, Gabby Otchere-Darko, has announced that whoever has information on the whereabouts of Nana Appiah Mensah, Menzgold CEO, should report it.

Gabby made this announcement in a post on Facebook as sighted by YEN.com.gh. He said he had learnt that Nana Appiah had defied his bail conditions and run away, apparently without the notice of the security officers.

Gabby stated that it could not be looked on for people like Nana Appiah, popularly called NAM1, “who allegedly dupe others with such impunity to get away with it easily like that.”

He stated clearly that he would not want a pesewa of his tax money to be used in paying for issues arising from such “Ponzi matters”, therefore, the law must deal with NAM1. He then charged all Ghanaians to “smoke” NAM1 out from his hiding place.

“I understand the owner of Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah, has breached his bail condition and absconded. We can’t allow those who allegedly dupe people with such impunity to get away with it that easily,” Gabby disclosed.

“Let’s smoke them out, wherever they are, and throw the book at them! While, I will not want a pesewa of my tax money to be involved with this ponzi matter, I believe majority of Ghanaians will agree with me that the law must come down heavily on those who use such schemes to destroy the lives of many people,” he fumed.

His message is sure to bring relief to the large number of Ghanaians who had invested huge sums of money with NAM1’s Menzgold. In an earlier report by YEN.com.gh, it was disclosed that Menzgold had 1.8 million customers.

Apart from retired security officers, pensioners, and ‘ordinary Ghanaians’ who did business with the company, it has been alleged that top politicians also had their monies with Menzgold.

These top politicians, according to the report, invested to the tune of $2m and $3m with the ‘fake’ gold hub.

Meanwhile, YEN.com.gh also reported that aggrieved Kumasi customers of the company had gone on a violent demonstration against it.

They defied police orders to stop the demonstration and went ahead to block roads and burn tyres to register their displeasure with Menzgold.

Now that Gabby has made this announcement, it is hope that all measures would be taken by the government and other stakeholders to get hold of NAM 1 in order that the many Ghanaians whose hearts have been broken could, at least, heave a sigh of relief.
