Glitz Africa, the publishers of the glamorous Glitz Magazine, have announced that they have come out with yet another way to showcase mother Africa and her great stories.
The company, which also created the Glitz Africa Fashion Week and the Glitz Style Awards, has announced the ‘Women of the Year Honors’ which it says is to “celebrate and appreciate women who have shown excellence, commitment and dedication in their various endeavors and spheres of leadership.”
According to Claudia Lumor, the Chief Executive Officer of Glitz Africa, the reason for the honors is to celebrate the women of Africa, who positively affect our lives. “It’s imperative [that] we celebrate people who go out of their way to positively affect other lives.
To them it may seem [as though] they’re fulfilling their passion but, the giant strides [that] they take, make them positive role models and have greatly influenced women,” she said.
A two day conference, which has been dubbed the ‘She Summit,’ has been slated for later this month. The aim of this conference is to bring together women to inspire and to motivate each other.
The conference shall be followed by a health walk and a Gala, which shall honour women who have excelled in various fields. The categories listed in this year’s ‘Women of the Year Honors’ are Class of Living Legends, Humanitarian, Entrepreneurial, Education, Arts, Health, Media, Advocacy, among others.
