A man in his late twenties, who wants to remain anonymous, has revealed he was sodomised continually by a fellow inmate for well over two years while on remand at the Nsawam Prisons.

He told Chief Jerry Forson on Ghana Yensom on Friday, 22 June 2018 that he was arrested together with six of his colleagues at Accra High Senior High School for smoking Indian hemp (Wee), sent to the Nima Police station, arraigned and subsequently remanded in prison custody for seven years.

While in prison, he said, one other inmate, whom he described as very influential among all the inmates, approached him and asked him to perform a blowjob on him for an amount of GHS5.

Out of frustration, he said he succumbed to pressure and gave the inmate a head, and also allowed his anus to be penetrated by him.

This act, he added, continued for two-and-a-half years until he could not take it any longer after developing complications in his anus.

“I reported the matter to the prison authority and they also reported to the crime officer who was in charge of my case but no action was taken,” he said.

He added: “By then, Prophet One Touch was also in prison, so, I told him about it and he prayed with me while in jail. Some of his pastors who came visiting him also prayed with me. By then, he was appealing against his jail sentence, and, so, he assured me that if he won the case, he would help me out of that place.

“Lo and behold he was freed. But even before Prophet One Touch would start the process of getting me out of jail, Lawyer Francis-Xavier Sosu had come to the prison as part of his fight for remand prisoners. I told him about my situation and he assured me that he would work on it. He sent me money for my upkeep in prison after he had left.”

“To cut the long story short, some of us who were on remand were sent to court for trial and thankfully the case was dropped by the prosecutor and I was freed.

“My Father had abandoned me because he told me he sent me to school and not to follow friends.”
