Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has said the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) will respond to the New Patriotic Party’s accusations in equal measure as the December 7 elections approach.

Speaking at the launch of the party’s Central regional campaign at Agona Swedru, Mr Amissah-Arthur accused the NPP of constantly attacking and leveling allegations against President John Mahama. He cited opposition leader Nana Akufo-Addo’s description of Mr Mahama as an “incompetent” leader to buttress his point.

“It is the empty vessel that makes the most noise. The NPP has accused the NDC of not achieving anything in government. President Mahama has released the green book, our achievements as a government can be seen in that green book. While members of the NPP were insulting us, we were working. From now onwards if they say one, we’ll say two. The NDC’s achievements in government are more than those of the NPP,” the Vice President stated.

Meanwhile, founder of UT Holdings, Prince Kofi Amoabeng has expressed disgust about insults hurled at senior politicians by some young people in the two major political parties in the lead up to the polls. According to him, the Ghanaian culture of showing respect to elders has been “thrown to the dogs.”
