Former Public Relations Officer of the Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG), Michael Ola, has come out to respond to a recent comment made by actor Agya Koo about celebrities who are supporters of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Ola is not pleased with the actor’s criticism and blaming of celebrities who endorsed the candidature of President John Mahama as being the major cause of his defeat in the 2016 December election.

In an interview with Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5FM, Ola said it was wrong for Agya Koo to speak in such manner because the celebrities who endorsed President Mahama executed a very good job campaigning for the NDC.

“I’ve heard Agya Koo saying, we those in the NDC didn’t do well but that’s quite unfortunate since he didn’t monitor our work on the grounds.”

According him, places where President Mahama didn’t know exist were where they went to campaign vigorously for the party.

He noted that he had never campaigned the way he did for NDC before to the extent that he observed John Dumelo campaigning in villages where vehicle couldn’t go.

“I’ve never campaigned the way I did for NDC before, even when I was in NPP, I never did what I did for NDC and I saw John Dumelo doing marvellous work. Places where you will not expect him to be, John will be there….. Places where the President didn’t know they exist that was where John went to canvass for votes. I saw Kalsume Sinare, Roselyn Ngissah, James Gardiner and Mr. Beautiful playing their respective roles to retain power for the NDC.”

Though the Movie producer accepted their defeat yet he was confident that they (Celebrities) worked very hard.

“If something wouldn’t work for you, no matter how hard you will try, you are bound to fail… just like football, the strategy of the winner is what we all adhere to….. trust me we worked, I covered three regions within a year and travelled within this political season more than anytime.”

He added that his motivation is to see the vision of President Mahama being fulfilled.
