Jahraa Faces Castro On Valentine?s Day

Live concerts, buffet dinners, night beach parties among other activities are the events lined up in celebration of Valentine?s Day come February 14.

Most of these events have been scheduled to take place in the big cities of Accra, Kumasi, Cape Coast and Takoradi. However, it would be wrong to think that it is only in the so-called big cities that Valentine?s Day events have been planned to take place. Several music shows will take place in most of the towns and villages over the country.

One of such concerts has been slated for the Osnad Hotel located at Konongo in the Ashanti region. Frimprince Music Production, a music distribution company and record label is organizing a Valentine?s Day concert to entertain the people of the Ashanti-Akyem area.

Apart from using the concert to formally launch Castro Destroyer?s latest album ?Toffee, it will also be used to bring back to the people the huge impact that George Jahraa?s music and performance used to have on the music scene in Ghana.

Jahraa made a popular hit with ?Sradinam? about a decade ago and Castro brought back that song two years ago when he remixed it on his maiden album. The concert is therefore meant to bring the two artistes together on one stage.

Anane Frimpong, CEO of Frimprince Music Production said the show is a Valentine?s Day activity that is meant to bring to the people of Konongo the best in contemporary highlife and hiplife music. ?It is expected to give the people something to cheer about on Val?s Day?.

The show is a star-studded one featuring Ofori Amponsah, K.K. Fosu, Kofi Nti, FBS, Dr. Poh, Frank Mensah, Okyeame Quame, Bollie and Charles Eloh.

Meanwhile, Frimprince Music Production will also organize a gospel music concert on Sunday at the Assemblies of God Church, Konongo.

Anane Frimprince said the aim of this concert is to entertain those who love gospel music during the festive season of Valentine. ?Valentine?s Day is as Christian as it is secular and so we believe that everybody should enjoy it?.

Among the musicians billed to perform at this concert are Yaw Sarpong, Christina Love, Agnes Opoku Agyemang, Cindy Thompson, Evangelist Diana Asamoah, Ama Boahema, Kwaku Gyasi and Mama Martha.
