Sitting continues as the Emile-Short commission proceeds with investigations into the violent clashes that interrupted the voting process during the Ayawaso West Wuogon polls in January.

This follows a break by the commission Friday when all three members of committee inspected the site where the event happened, escorted by experts to ascertain the details from the ground.

The three-member committee comprising Chairperson, CHRAJ Boss, Justice Emile Short, renowned law lecturer, Prof. Henrietta Bonsu as well as Patrick Acheampong have so far been ‘grilling’ various parties connected with the subject including National Security and Interior ministers, Top Police officials, Media personalities, Political party executives, Heads of the National Security secretariat among others.

All three Ministers concerned with state security appeared before the committee on the first day to give their testimonies and answer questions. Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery, National Security Minister, Albert Kan Dapaah and Minister of State in charge of Security, Bryan Acheampong all addressed questions in their respective capacities.

Ningo-Prampram MP, Sam George, Ayawaso West Wuogon and Colonel Michael Opoku, Director of Operations for National Security Secretariat made some quite interesting revelations also at Monday and Tuesday's sitting.

Chief Superintendent Kwasi Ofori, Director of Operations for Accra Region, Citi FM’s Bernard Avle and Paul Adom-Otchere of Metro TV also gave their testimonies.

Ayawaso West Wuogon MP, Lydia Alhassan has however been taken out of the list of witnesses to appear before the commission.

Security Expert, Kwesi Enning took his turn today before the commission and NPP General Secretary, John Boadu is currently testifying before the commission.
