Two men have sustained injuries after they were shot at by some land guards at Gomoa Fetteh Kakraba GPRTU in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region on Saturday.
Report gathered by Kasapa FM News' Yaw Boagyan indicates that the victims whose lands were being encroached upon by the land guards had information that the latter had stormed the site and were demolishing properties.
The victims were said to have then visited their land only to see for themselves what was happening only for the land guards to open fire on them injuring the two on their arm and leg.
The victims were rushed to the Budumbram government hospital where they are receiving treatment. The land guards are on the run.
Police have since commenced an investigation into the matter.
Meanwhile, the Gomoa Fetteh Kakraba Odikro, Nana Essel Amankwandoh has appealed to the police to beef up security in their area to quell the increasing criminal activities of land guards.
He said the people of Gomoa Fetteh Kakraba are living in a state of fear and panic.
