Award-winning Ghanaian actress Lydia Forson has urged Ghanaians to support the movie industry and Ghanaian products as a whole.

She gave this advice on Thursday evening at a press conference for a yet-to-be-premiered movie, 'Sidechic Gang'.

According to Lydia, when individuals make such a conscious decision to support made in Ghana products, it enables the producers and manufacturers earn more income to produce more quality products for consumption.

Lydia as an advocate in supporting made in Ghana products urged Ghanaians to support the movie industry by believing in the actors and actresses.

“A lot of times people say the industry is struggling and all of that. I made a conscious decision last year by purchasing more of made in Ghana, obviously, I can’t buy everything made in Ghana. I bought a handbag and a shoe, when you support a product by purchasing, you make a conscious decision to help the product grow. The producer makes enough funds to make more products.” Lydia said.

The 'dwindling' state of the movie industry in Ghana has been the subject of conversation on social media and other media platforms in recent times.

'SideChic Gang' premiers on Saturday 3rd March 2018 at Silverbird Cinemas, Accra mall and West Hills mall.
