Import duty has been reduced by 50% while import duty on vehicles reduced to 30%.

Akufo-Addo said this last Saturday at a townhall meeting of Ghanaians resident in Worcester, Massachusetts, in the United States of America, as part of a working visit to that country.
This act by government follows petitions presented by trade unions including the Ghana Union of Traders Associations (GUTA) to intervene and review the high taxes and duties on imported items.
