Actress and Executive Producer of ABC Pictures, Kafui Danku over the weekend made an appearance on the ‘hanging out with KOD’ show where she talked about variety of issues ranging from her marriage life, why she started producing her own movies and more.
When asked what her childhood dream was, she revealed, “I wanted to be a journalist, while growing up, I just love how the name sounds, jou-rna-list, so I thought it would be some swag job, so I told myself I would give it a try, but later along the way, the acting dream was just too strong that I just need to follow that path”.
The screen diva added that she is full of reverence to Abdul Salam Mumuni of Venus Films for believing and supporting her as well as the roles he has given her through and through. Kafui has featured in movies among others like Heal my heart, 4play, 4play reloaded before her big break came through.
The former Miss Ghana Greater Accra Regional rep, when asked by the host, how her husband behaves when she plays kissing roles or other sexually suggestive roles in movies and whether it’s not by any means affecting her marriage life, she commented “I just don’t get it because for me I think it comes with my job, and I don’t by any way see why it should affect my marriage life”. She added that before the relationship and everything, he knows very well that’s her job, so why should he be bothered about her roles in movies after they are now married, she said.
On why she has started producing her own movies, she revealed, “I just want to contribute my quota, I also want to contribute to our growing Ghanaian movie industry in my own small way.” The executive producer of ABC Pictures has produced movies like Letter to my mother, Devil in a dress, Happy Deathday, and the new movie on the block ‘I Do’ which is set to premiere on 6th March, 2015 at the SilverBird Cinemas.
